March 1, 2007 (Regina, SK, Canada) The Saskatchewan Film and
Video Development Corporation (SaskFilm) is pleased to announce that Los Angeles based
production companies Tule River Films and World Premiere Entertainment, along with
Saskatchewan based Stephen Onda Productions have commenced principal photography on the
feature film Downloading Nancy today in Regina, Saskatchewan.
The producers chose to produce the film in Saskatchewan following several meetings
with provincial representatives in 2006.
"Saskatchewan has proven to be a perfect
setting for our story which takes place in middle America" says producer David
Moore. "The incredible surroundings and locations here in Regina have added an
enormous amount of value to our production."
Downloading Nancy follows
the fate of an unhappy housewife who instead of committing suicide, meets a man over the
Iternet and hires him to kill her. Things become more complicated when the two
unexpectedly fall in love.
Directed by acclaimed commercial and music
video director Johan Renck and featuring veteran director of photography Christopher Doyle
(Hero, In The Mood For Love). Downloading Nancy
stars Maria Bello (A History of Violence, World Trade Center), Jason
Patric (Paul Haggis' upcoming In the Valley of Elah, Narc),
Rufus Sewell (The Illusionist, A Knight's Tale), and Amy
Brenneman, (Judging Amy, Your Friends and Neighbors). The film is
written by Pamela Cumming and Lee H. Ross.
"We're pleased that Saskatchewan was a perfect fit for
Downloading Nancy," says Susanne Bell, Acting CEO and Film Commissioner,
SaskFilm. "It's clear that Saskatchewan's competitive tax credit program,
scenic locations and experienced production partners were effective in attracting
yet another foreign film production to the province."
