Home again after a wonderful week in London with friends.  Saw Rock 'n' Roll twice, had a chat with Roof on Friday and a lovely visit on Saturday night.  He's absolutely brilliant in this play, the toast of the town at the moment, looking great, feeling great, and working very hard!   The play was amazing - one really needs to see it more than once to grasp it all. Having the chance to read it through (the Royal Court has copies for sale in lieu of programs) before seeing it again on Saturday night helped immensely!   Said hello to Tom Stoppard and Sinead Cusack and thanked them both for an amazing evening of theatre!!  We saw a couple of other plays, Sam Shepard's Fool For Love, and The Seagull at the National, but I'm afraid I'm spoiled now and will compare every play I see to Stoppard.

Check out Roof's brother Caspar's band, Grand Union!  Very nice funky, folksy jazz!

Sad news today -  Syd Barrett, a founding member of Pink Floyd and a major off-stage character in Rock 'n' Roll, died this past Friday, it was announced today.

Great news - Rock 'n' Roll has extended it's run at the Duke of York's Theatre until November 5, 2006 and Rufus reported to me today that he is staying with the cast through that date!

Rock 'n Roll has extended again, until November 26, but Rufus reports that he will be leaving the play on November 5.  Check out the Rock 'n' Roll page for some fabulous new photos taken by Rai when she visited with Rufus after seeing the play at the Duke of York's.

Dianne has shared a great photo of Rufus, taken on Saturday, October 14, after the matinee performance of  Rock 'n' Roll.  She reports that Rufus was very kind. When she asked if she could have a photo of him, he asked her if she would like to be in it.   Then he asked fellow cast member, Alice Eve, to take the picture of them together.   You can see one of the photos on the Rock 'n' Roll page.

We're going back to London to see Rock 'n' Roll one more time before the major cast changes!!!  A play like this comes along once in a lifetime and who knows when Roof will be on the stage again.

I'm taking the red-eye to London on Tuesday, Halloween night.  I hope there aren't any witches, ghosts, or goblins on the plane.

I'm home!  I got in last night from a wonderful week in London with friends.   I saw Rock 'n' Roll for the last time :-( and had a  fantastic visit with Rufus on Thursday after the play.  When I sort out my great new digital camera (where are you when I need you, Roof?) I'll post some photos on the Rock 'n' Roll page.

The weather has turned VERY cold, so of course more babies decided it was time to be born.  We found 6 new little ones out in the field with their mothers early yesterday morning - all doing well.
Thursday is my birthday - oh dear!

I survived my birthday but no longer count them!  I'm excited about Roof's next project, the Home Box Office mini-series, John Adams, based on the wonderful book of the same title by David McCullough.  Roof is playing Alexander Hamilton, a founding father with a few skeletons in his closet, just the sort of character he can get his teeth into.  I loved Amazing Grace!!  Rufus was mesmerizing as the fiery abolitionist, Thomas Clarkson.  We now have 61 baby goats, bringing our herd to over 100, and keeping us busy.

After some early spring warm weather it has turned nasty.  We had snow on Easter, the first I can ever remember,  but with Gracie here it was still a wonderful family weekend. Today was a good day to sit before the open fire and read so that's exactly what I did.
